I have double checked my information that I have given you. I have logged the name as William Dyke, but noted that the parts were not legible. I rented the film, so do not have it to double check this. I was reading the Bishop Transcripts Film no. 147084 (Bishop Transcripts from Milborne Port)through our local Family History Center. I can not find any other reference to William in the census that I have checked or other parish records.

I checked the land tax assessments (Flim no. 1526846) and the only Dykes I have recorded are:
1825: Sylvanius and George Dyke
1826: George Dyke
1827: George Dyke
1829: George Dyke
1830: George and John Dyke
1832: George and John Dyke
I will tell you that my Dyke family in Milborne Port did come from Stalbridge, Dorset. The 1871 census does have a William and Maria Dyke from Stalbridge living in Shaftsbury Dorset. He is aged 67 years old and a retired boot maker. Don't know if this helps.
