DYNAN John b.abt 1806 Ireland, England and US
Hi,
Desperately hoping for help with John DYNAN b. abt 1806 Ireland possibly Cork area, Occupation Tailor. Married Ann Parry in Manchester England 1827, left family behind and sailed with a male relation (possibly Denis Lane) to New York on the Lady Franklin arriving in winter 1850. By 1861-3 he was fighting in the American Civil War and died soon after at Bull Run/Manassas. His uniform was sent home to the UK and his wife was paid a pension. I can't find anything out about him before he turns up in 1827 for his marriage. I've tried looking for his enlistment records to find his parents and place of birth with no success and also I've tried looking for his death and pension records with no success...am I missing something..surely it can't be so difficult to find him. The only other bit of info is at his daughters christening a witness/sponsor was Nicholas Dinan-maybe a relation with a spelling difference! So any help would be wonderful, he must have had family in Ireland or maybe they'd already moved to Manchester by 1827, any suggestions etc would be great. Thank you.
