Some time ago, I received information on the Eachus family that resided in Gallia County, OH. Namely, Rufus H. Eachus, his spouses (1) Mary Crinkleton (married 1815) and (2) Nancy Sullavan (married 1840)
The information I received stated that Malissa was the daughter of Rufus and Nancy. I have photos of Melissa and Andrew S. Dempsey's headstone in Jug Creek cemetery in Vernon County, WI. Melissa/Malissa's inscription reads "Malissa C. born Feb. 9, 1834 died age 77 ys 6 ms 21 ds. Further investigation at the historical society bore a cemetery survey and census reports for Stark Township supporting Melissa/Malissa's birth date as being 1834. The information leads one to assume that Melissa's mother would be Mary Crinkleton. Just thought this might be of interest for folks researching the Rufus H. Eachus/Mary Crinkleton/Nancy Sullavan lines.
