Can anybody help with info on William Eacott who apparently arrived in Hobart on board the "Elphinstone", probably on the 1836 voyage from London to Hobart arriving 24th May 1836. This voyage carried 238 male prisoners. There is no evidence on the Tasmanian Archives found to date that William was a convict. He was listed on the "Colonial Invalids" records from 1897 to 1902. He apparently had convicts assigned to him as housekeepers, as there is a record of a theft recorded against one such servant while in his service in Launceston.
Any information on William and his wife Ann greatly appreciated. Thank you.
