hi, I'm afraid I don't know about your possible Irish roots, but I do know that often, HEAD was derived from EADES, this was because it got changed about so often. Many of our ancestors couldn't spell, and so officials such as those taking census's or Priests and Pastors would be the only people able to write and would therefore put it down as they thought a name was spelt. So EADES became EADE and then EAD (as in BED) and then it got to EDD and HEAD. However this doesn't follow that All HEAD names were from EADE(s). I have one John EADES down in a census as John NEEDS so it was also something to do with the accent too I would presume from this, as it was obviously heard for that particular cens as JohNeeds lol. The next cens he was back at his same addy as EADES. Also I have EAMES and EAVES all part of my EADES lineage. hth C. Notify Administrator about this message?
