Hi Rosemary

Not sure if this fit's or helps really, but here goes anyway...

My Grandfather was a John Eades and my great Grandfather (name unknown at present) owned a resturant called the Coventry (possible connection here!). Another possible link with the shipping industry was my Uncle (another John Eades), who after the war (WW2) worked for Cory's who built tugs etc... as far as I have gone back to date, we were all London based although my father (Lewis Eades) seems to remember family links to the Midlands and Sheffield.

If this help's feel free to mail me.

All the best.

John.
