You asked about James Briggs. As I said before, he was the second husband of Louise Jane Eads French, whose husband Frank L., French, born 1874 and died 1919. Louisa Jane is buried beside her first husband, as I said. I promised to ask her grandson about James Briggs and I did. James Briggs is buried in the Hughes Chapel cemetery, in Maries County, Mo, about three miles from Louisa Jane Eads French. James I. Briggs, was born 1872 and died 1954, according to his tombstone.

He appears in both the 1880 and 1900 Maries County, MO census, single, and living with his parents. He was born July 1872. His parents were James L. Briggs. born Nov., 1841 in Mo and Nancy M. Briggs, born Oct., 1841 in Mo. He had a brother, John W. Briggs, born March, 1871, in MO. I don't know if you want to pursue this line for they are not your ancestors. As I said he was Louise Jane's second husband. James I. Briggs and Louisa Jane French probably married in Maries County, Mo in the 1920's. They were already married in the thirties as I well remember them. I confirmed what I remembered that he was not buried beside his wife, as I knew that she wanted to be buried beside her first husband and she was. This is all that I know about this family, except books about her Eads ancestors.
