Emmet and Columbus Eads-Eades-Edes

I am looking for more information on Emmet and Columbus Eads, both of whom were the sons of William Henry Eads and Sallie Hatcher and all being born around Snow Creek, Stokes County, North Carloina. Columbus was born in 1837 and married Sarah Floyd. He is said to have served in the Confederate Army. I would like to know which regiment.

Emmet was born in 1838 and married Nancy Brown. He was with the 42nd Virginia and was killed in 1863? I would like more details on his service.

Many of these Eads removed to Roane and Bedford County,Tennesse. Ancestry.com has information on both of these men, under the Edes spelling I believe, but I do not have an account and have used the fourteen day free trial period. Any help would be appreciated.
