I'm waiting for my grandmother to send my further information on the Eagers. Her great aunt Molly seems to have been the family historian, and her brother, father and grandfather were all called Germaine. Molly was born around 1887.
I know that the Molly and her sister Ellen, my g g granny lived in Co wicklow, and that their great grandfather William (Billy) Eager, fought for the United Irishmen in the 1789 rebellion. I found a website listing the United Irishmen of Co Wicklow, and he is not listed, so perhaps the family did come from Kerry.
I'll let you know

Susan
