One of my ancestors, William Eager (also called Ager) was born in Monaghan, Ireland in 1702.His wife was Elsa McGrada.Their son, also William, was born aboard ship on the way to America in 1728.The younger William married Ann Bull. Ann's father was William Bull b. Feb 1689 in Neelytown. His wife was Sarah Wells.William and Ann had several children including my 4th great-grandfather, Jason Eager. His daughter, Jane Eager, my 3rd great-grandmother married William Bennett, b. Ireland 1793.I descend from them to my mother,Julia Matilda Bennett Williams, 1911-1992.So, on MY Eager line I can trace back to 1728 in America. Both Jason Eager, my 4th g grandfather, and his son-in-law, William Bennett, my 3rd g grandfather, participated in the War of 1812.William's service was brief and uneventful but Jason had a foot shot off, necessitating the amputation of his leg below the knee, at the Battle of Ft. Erie.Getting back to William the younger who was born on ship in 1728, when I looked him up they gave his birthplace as "The Atlantic Ocean."
