Thanks for your reply, but this is not my particular group of Eagertons, although they certainly might be related. This particular William migrated from Marion County, SC to Gadsden County, Florida in 1830 and remained there until his death on 28 April 1855. His wife was Mary Ann Munnerlyn, daughter of John Munnerlyn (RS) of Marion County. William and Mary Ann had a number of children, most of whom remained in the area.

My ancestor is his daughter, Ann Munnerlyn Eagerton, who married John McRae in Gadsden County in 1849. She is no longer in her father's household at the time of the 1850 census when names of household members were first listed. None of William's or Mary Ann's children are mentioned by name in their obituaries, although Mary Ann was survived by 3 sons and 3 daughters. I have not located a will or estate distribution. So I have no concrete proof that Ann M Eagerton is William's daughter. I'm hoping someone on this list does.
