David, the Denison Family Genealogist has offered to help us solve this mystery! She thinks Church records might be a good place to look; do you have access to them for that time period (1807)?

We both think that Prudence Denison is the most likely choice for being the mother of Matilda. She's the daughter of Gurdon Denison, Sr. and his wife, Catherine Fitzpatrick.

Since we last corresponded, I found Catherine Fitzpatrick's parents' names. I also found one of the sisters of Prudence in the 1838 Horton census with other older females in the household. Both Denison parents would have died by then and the unmarried Prudence and Catherine could have been living with their married sister and family.

Have you made any progress? Someone else recently wrote to me about the MicMac connection, but in the Eagles bloodline.
