According to the LDS site, there was a Mary Elizabeth Eagles born in Chatham, NJ in 1843 in Chatham, Morris County, NJ. Same person? Evidently, her father was John Phillip Eagles (thus probably Egel or Igel) from Germany. It looks like most of the Egels were around the Karlsruhe (literally Karlīs Rest -- a place where Charlemagne cooled his heels). Does anyone know about this family? Thanks in advance for any replies.
