I purchased a studio card photograph of a young and quite beautiful LAURA EAGLESON who was listed as living in Washington, PA, according to an inked notation on the back of the photo. However, the photo was take at the Charles H. Carpenter Studio in Granville, O. (OHIO?)
Also noted on the back is the young woman's sorority affiliation; let me recall my dismal knowledge of Greek -- Sigma (?) Pi Delta??? I am wondering if she was from Granville but attended college in Washington, PA, which is in western PA near the PA/OH (WV) line.
Of great interest, she is WEARING HER SORORITY PIN on her collar in the photo. (Imagine a descendant who still has the pin now having a photo of this beautiful ancestor.)
I purchase old photos with the hope that I can reunite them with their family. I ask only that descendants give me some information about the person in the photo and then reimburse the purchase price ($3) pluse cover postage. This allows me to continue this wonderful process.
