Eagleton Family History Hi Paul, I have a Birth Certificate I was given when I applied for a copy of Arthur Eagleton’s Birth certificate. This is the only material evidence I have for his birth. It states Arthur Henry Eagleton was born on 12th March 1886 in Union Workhouse, Kinston U.S.D. to Fanny Eagleton a Laundress of Thames Ditton. The birth was registered by Fanny Eagleton on 31st March 1886. Only other information I have gained is through his death certificate, which says his mother was Fanny Eagleton [nee 'Stone' but no proof of marriage to be found. Arthur’s marriage certificate said her maiden name was 'Hill'. Again no proof of marriage. Have also been unsuccessful in finding a death certificate for her bearing any name as yet] and naming his father as Hendry Eagleton [able seaman – deceased cannot find any proof of this. The only mention he ever made of his family was his sister Rose, whom no one ever met. Looking through the 1881 census I have identified a Caroline Rose staying with her grandparents in Thames Ditton on night of census. Further investigation into I.G.I. gives this family as having a daughter Fanny [Eggleton] born Thames Ditton, 1858. Her parents named as John Eggleton and Amelia [no surname]. [Have since found other children through I.G.I. for them.] I.G.I. shows Fanny [Eagleton] had a daughter Caroline Rose born Thames Ditton 1878. Will try and send this to you. Hope it make sense. Thanks Carol. Notify Administrator about this message?
