Julia: You need to see The Shoe Cobbler's Kin, Volumes I & II, a genealogy of The Peter Eaker Sr. Family, which can be found in many libraries, especially in the NC_SC area you are talking about. Where do you live? Perhaps I can direct you to a library near you or you can email:

The Eaker Family origins are found from PA back into Switzerland in another book "German Speaking People West Of The Catawba River In NC 1750-1800"
