Hi Charles,

My husband's great grandmother was a sister of Christopher, aka Charles E. Eaker. She was Mary Jane Eaker. Off and on I have been working on my husband's family tree trying to fill in some blanks that his brother wasn't able to find information on.

This is how I came to find your message on this forum and I do have a few questions for you that I hope you have answers to. I was able to find Charles, Nannie and the children, including Maude and William A., on the 1900 census still in Hickman, Fulton Co, KY. I was trying to find them on the 1910 census but have had no luck so far. Have you found them on the 1910 census and if so where?

In your message regarding the family of Charles E. Eaker, you state that, with his wife Nannie, he had Iris, Essie, Lexie Lee, Senter, Lois and Charles (your dad). I was wondering if you have dates of birth for these children? On the 1900 census the first child on the list is Ira, son, age 10; the second child, a daughter, is hard to read but it looks like Thia, age 8; then there is Lexie, Center and what looks to be Lulie, daughter, age 4 months. Would this last child be Lois? I'm guessing that your father was born after 1900.Was Ira and Iris twins? Or was there an error on the part of the enumerator? Nannie did state that she had 6 children but that only 5 were living and as of 1900 there were only 5 listed.

Anything that you can give me would be great. I found, through a volunteer, a copy of the article in the paper about Christopher's visit home in 1911. I would be happy to send you a copy if you don't have one already.

Have you been able to find anything on the Huffman family of Christopher's mother? I would be interested in anything on that family as well.

Sincerely, Georgene Blair
