We're pleased to report that the DNA Project is progressing nicely and is currently represented by several descendants (including 3 spelling variations of the surname so far) of Johann Adam Eckhardt who emigrated from Wiesbaden, Germany to Dutchess Co., NY as part of the 1710 Palatine movement. Also represented is the unrelated family of Peter and Jane (Sutherland?) Acker who settled in Pendleton Dist., SC prior to the Revolution.
Whether your ancestry is uncertain and you'd like to compare results, or if you'd simply like to benefit others by being the first representative for a family whose ancestry is already established, your participation is greatly appreciated and will ultimately help to sort out different family groups and to determine "lost" family branches.
