Jane: I am told that the oldest child of Ezekial and Leah Catherine Pilgrim(?) of Noshoba Co., Ms., married a Robert R. Lyle in Kemper Co., Ms. Her name was spelled Inthaberry in the 1850 census of Neshoba Co. and was spelled Enfyberry in the 1880 census of Comal Co., Tx. Inthaberry(Enfyberry)had a sister named Nancy, per the 1850 census of Neshoba Co. In the 1860 census of Neshoba Co. and in the next house to Ezekial Ekes, is a David Guthery, with a wife named Nancy (with the correct age) and a nine month old daughter named Martha J. I am unable to find either David Guthery or wife or child nor Inthaberry Lyle in any other later census anywhere.

Now my story. I am searching for my ggrandmother Leah Catherine Guthery, born 1866 in Ms. and died in Texas in 1936 (Henderson Co.) Leah had an older sister named, Martha Jane Guthery, and a younger sister named Azzie Lou.
In the 1880 census with Enfyberry Lyle is listed a girl named Lea (correct age for my ggrandmother) and a Maggie (correct age for my Azzie). There is also a daughter named Mary, age 24, and son named Willie. Lea and Maggie were listed as her daughters.

The family story is that Lea and Azzie's mother died when they were quite young and I am hopeful that Infyberry took them in upon the death of Nancy Guthery, noted above with David. My standstill is where is David Guthery in 1870? If I could find him in the 1870 census, some of my problems would be solved, I hope.

Lea was married in Henderson Co. to Rufus Clayton in 1883 and Azzie married Thomas Gore in 1888 or so and Martha Jane married A.E.S. Dumas in 1878 in Smith Co.

Sorry this is so long.

Barbara
