Hope we can sort through this and find the right connection. I have found a reference to Zachariah Eakes showing that he and many other named individuals were responsible for clearing a road. The date for this was July 19, 1770. In the 1860 census, next door to the Zach Eakes family there is a Z.M. Eakes 21 living with a John ? family. Any idea who this might be? Also, concerning the name of Jane Tuck, someone has suggested to me that her name might be Jane Tucker rather than Tuck as there are many Tuckers in this area.
