Hi Everyone!
My name is Tammy Fisher. I am trying to find info on the parents, brothers or sisters of the following siblings:
Henry Ollie EAKES
b. Jul 1, 1879
d. Apr 26, 1947
Martha Belle EAKES
b. Aug 12, 1884
d. Mar 22, 1989 ... yes, she was 104-1/2 when she passed away.
Henry Ollie EAKES married ...
Ella Frances PEED
b. Mar 17, 1875
d. Apr 7, 1930
Henry and Ella Peed EAKES had six children:
dau : Viola Belle m. Robey Elbert Blalock ... [my grandparents]
son : George William m. Mary Oakley
son : Cornelius (Nealius)
dau : Mattie m. Gaddis M. Kidd
dau : Mollie m. Robert S. Yancey
dau : Iona
Martha Belle Eakes married ... Dec 30, 1903
George Washington Peed
b. Mar 19, 1878
d. Jan 1, 1933
George and Martha Eakes PEED had five children:
dau : Ethel May m. Julian Oakley
son : Simeon (Simmie) Belvin m. Zoie Ford
dau : Lelia Ann m. John R. (Johnny) Jones
son : Willie (Bill) Washington
son : Travis Wilson m. Lurline Parott
I believe that Henry and Martha EAKES were born in Granville. They later married their
respective spouses and raised their children in Person Co.
Any information you could provide would be gratefully appreciated.
I will be going to Raleigh next week [July 3-7, 2001] to visit the State Archives.
It is my hope that they will be able to help.
This will be my first trip to the Archives, so if you have any "pointers" ... that would be appreciated also.

PS. I was sorry to read of the passing of Mary Eakes Clark. I would be most interested in meeting with you at
the Eakes Reunion. I will be attending a Blalock Family Reunion in North Carolina in August.
Let me know if you would like to attend ... several Eakes members will be there.
