Thank You George,
We do appear to have Eakin's in our line of Moody's from Nor. Ireland (Co. Londonderry, Down and Antrim) that came to PA.
While researching old records in Nor. Ireland I found the surnames of Moody and Eakin (of various spellings which is what prompted my query here) and then again as these families emigrated to PA I found them intermarrying once again in the early to mid 1800's.
This further added to my suspicions that these Scottish Clans really did cling together.
Our Moody's were no doubt originally from Scotland and the name most likely spelled as MOODIE but somehow has been popularly spelled for generations in the English manner of Moody. However Ydna has proven we do not belong to the numerous lines of ydna tested English Moody's.
Thank you again so very much for the info on the Eakin name, this will be a huge help.
M.
