Eakins, Baird, St. Lawrence Co., NY

I'm trying to locate any of Peter Eakins' siblings that may have come over to NY in the 1830s or 1840s. We know he was one of 15 children. He was born in Ireland, lived in Dundee, Scotland, and then immigrated in early 1840s. Only information we have on siblings is a sister, Susannah, who married a John Baird. John Baird was the cousin of Peter's second wife Elizabeth Baird. Peter married EB in New York (state) in 1848. So it seems reasonable that John Baird may have been in the same area, as well as other relatives. Beer's 1865 Index shows a number of Akins, and Baird's, to be in the St Lawrence area, and I wondering if any of these may be related. I have not found any information within my line suggesting the use of the Akins spelling, but Peter's siblings may have used that spelling. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
