I do not know if there is any relation, but my great grandfather was John Alexander Eakins (listed Eakens on 1920 census.) He was born Nov.23,1889 in Tennessee (according to 1920 census) and died Nov.25,1961 in Oklahoma. He is buried in the Rubottom Cemetery in Love County, Oklahoma next to his wife Jessie (Plemons) Eakins.
The 1920 census lists him married to a Mary (maiden name unknown) and living in Red Mound, Seminole Co., Oklahoma with two daughters, Lorene and Jewel. I know that by 1921 he was married to Jessie Plemons and living in "Ragtown" Oklahoma. It was an oilfield settlement in present day Wilson, Oklahoma.
I was wondering if anyone have any information about him.
The 1920 census lists that both of his parents were born in Tennessee.
Any information would be most helpful.
Thank you,
Candace Cartwright Wesson
