I am looking for the ancesters of Thomas Aikin. His family is found in the 1870 Monroe County, Tennessee census as follows:
Thos. Aikin 25 M W Farmer
Almeda 30 F W Keeping House
Charlie 5 M W
Battie(?) 3 F W
Sallie 1 F W
Fannie Aikin 70 F W
Jaggie(?) Aikin 35 F W
Martha (?)Aikin 7 F W
The names with (?) were hard to read and could be something different. I think Fannie mat be Thomas' mother and Jaggie a sister. I found a marriage record on the LDS site showing a Thomas Eakin marrying an Almeda Lewis on Sept. 14, 1864. At some point, around 1871, Almeda either died or left Thomas because in the 1880 Loudon County, Tennessee census Thomas is married to a Martha who is 25 years of age.
