Hi-- I am a ggg granddaughter of Joseph Eakins and Isabella Walcup Eakins, who came to Charleston, SC, abt 1770 from County Tyrone, Ireland (nothern Ireland). They had 4 boys (Thomas-- NOT the artist, George, John, and Samuel) and 2 girls (Sarah--md Sam Biggerstaff, and Isabella-- md a Wilkinson). Thomas, George, John came into Henderson CO, KY, the very early 1800's from Rutherford CO., NC; Sarah stayed in Rutherford CO., and I don't know what happened to Isabella Eakins Wilkinson. Thomas did leave KY and ended up in MO; Samuel may have gone to AR/MO. Anyone out there that connects with these Eakins-- pronounced A-kins? Thanks.
