Hello Bob; Some of the information I have may/maynot be a match. I have Henry Eakle born Feb. 14, 1775 in Maryland. died April 4, 1853 married Mary May 'Polly' Poffenberger on June 2, 1797. Their children are the following: Catherine, Christian, Amos, John, Elizabeth, Rosannah, Henry, Mary, Jonathan, Benjamin, Sally, & Harriet.
I have Henry's father...Christian Eakle born 1744 married to Maria Becker. Christian's father is a Johann EAKLE born in Germany...Alsace Lorraine...and married to Anna Ohrendarff also born in Germany. This couple would be the first in America of my line.
I hope this helps you. You can email me directly if you would like. I do have some of the birth dates of the children of Henry Eakle. This sounds like it may be a connection, although I am not sure. I know that the Amos son of Henry was born in Virginia but don't know where he ended up. Many other of my EAKLE's went to Tennessee around Jackson Co or Clay Co. I don't know if this is near Hermitage Tennessee or not! Please do let me know what you think!
