I hope someone can help me!
William Harper Wright (1806-1888) married as his second wife, Tabitha (b.ca. 1800-1805). I think she was Tabitha Earhart, who in 1850 Davidson Co.,TN, was living with Elizabeth Ahart (sic), age 38; William Ahart, age 14; Mary Ahart, age 12; and Absalom Ahart, age 30. [Civil District 4).
I found that Nimrod Earhart married 8-27/9-6-1833, Elizabeth Stewart, by John Hall, JP.
In 1840, Nimrod is 30-40 and his wife is also 30-40; and they had 1 female, 5-10, and 1 male and 1 female under 5.
Living in the same area were Abram Earhart, age 50-60, wife 40-50; and William Stewart, age 60-70.
My greater interest is in your posting regarding Rebecca Jane Umphreys (Humphreys) who married (1) Wade H (or J.) Earhart; (2) Samuel David Brown; and (3) William J. Pulley.
I believe that Rebecca Jane may be the daughter or granddaughter of James Humphreys and Elizabeth Wright. In the will of Charles Wright (made Dec 1825; proved Dec 1826, Davidson Co. TN), he lists his children including daughter, Elizabeth Umphries (sic).
Charles (d.1826) and his wife, Mary, also had a son, Hollis Wright (d. 1850, Davidson Co.TN)who married Sarah Humphreys
in North Carolina before moving to Davidson Co., TN.
I think that Samuel David Brown, second husband of Rebecca Jane Humphreys, was a son of Robert Brown and his wife, Elizabeth Wright, daughter of Thomas Wright and Martha Tate.
I think that Wilson Hurt Brown who married Rebecca Jane Pulley was a descendant of Robert and Elizabeth; and I think that Elizabeth Hagar/Hager who married Reuben Aaron Pulley was a descendant of Jane Wright, another daughter of Charles Wright (d. 1826) and his wife, Mary, who married George W. Hagar.
I think that the Wrights and extended family, like the Earharts, came to Davidson Co., TN, from Lincoln Co., NC.
Can anyone verify any of this?
