In Reply to: Phillip Erehart in Tryon County, NC w/ Christopher Guise by Candace York of 642

Christopher Guice owned land in Robertson/Montgomery/Stewart co Tn.

Our Jacob McCarty, son of Daniel & Agnes McCarty of Lincoln Co, NC lived on Guices Creek. His wife was Catherine Standley, daughter of David and Hannah Stanley/Standley/Standlee who can be found in the records of Anson/Tryon/Mecklenburg Co NC as early as 1758.

"Stewart County Deed Book 4, 1810-1813: 127 Christopher GUICE (Tennessee County, territory of the U.S. south of the Ohio River), power of attorney to Jacob McCARTY to sell 2 adjoining tracts (100a and 640a) on GUICES Creek, about 2.5 miles from Cumberland River; wit: George HEWELL, Faulkner ELLIOTT; 23 Feb 1793"

In Robertson Co Tn Jacob McCarty's neighbors were Adam Hampton & Martin Alexander. Families that followed the Stanley/McCartys were Kuykendall, Hardin, Hampton, Leeper, Tagert and others.

John Tagert, the first Sheriff of Tryon Co NC was also tied to the Standleys and McCartys by marriage. John's daughter Esther Tagert was married to David Standlee Jr, son of David & Hannah. John's son James Tagert was married to Sarah McCarty, daughter of Jacib McCarty and Catherine Standley.

Regarding the Benjamin Hardin family. Benjamin and hus wife Catherine Hardin had at least 4 deeds with David Stanley in Anson Co in 1758. Benjamin died in Logan County Ky between 1802-1805 living amongst the David Stanley/Standley families. Logan county was across the Cumberland River from Robertson/Stewart Co Tn.
