I am the great granddaughter of Uriah Whitfield Earles who was married to Bettie Thomas Thornton, then, after her death, to her sister Nannie Thornton. Uriah had one son, Thomas Thornton (my grandfather) by Bettie and two sons, Hugh and Hamner by Nannie. Thomas Thornton Earles (my grandfather) had two sons, Ransom Whitfield and Thomas Thornton. I currently live in Oakton, VA, but, interestingly enough, used to live in Warren County, NC.
