Hi, Beulah,

I'm not sure which John EARLE you are referring to with the information of being 83 years old in 1850 Pendleton Co. information.

The (Sir) John EARLE mentioned in my information was born in abt. 1612 and died at the age of 48 years old in 1660 after his 1st wife, Mary SYMONS, died in 1659.

My paternal 4th great grandfather, Samuel EARLE, IV,(2) died in 1845 in Mobile, Alabama where he had moved to with his wife, Tabitha WILLIAMS. He was the son of (Major) Samuel EARLE, III and 2nd wife, Elizabeth HOLBROOK, and III was the son of Samuel EARLE, II and wife, Phillis BENNETT, and II was the son of Samuel EARLE, I and 1st wife, Bridget HALE(S,) and I was the son of (Sir) John EARLE and 1st wife, Mary SYMONS.

The names of John and especially Samuel are soooooo repetitive it is enough to make one nutty. Dear cousin Wilton EARLE WORKMAN is the only reason that I ever found my way out of the maze by alerting me that there were two men named Samuel EARLE, IV who were born to the same father and were half brothers with the 1st Samuel EARLE being born and dying many years before his half brother of the same name was born.

If this doesn't clarify things for you why don't you send me your family tree as you show it and I may be able to tell more by looking at all of the names at once and if I can't then I will send it over to Wilton and she might be able to tell more. Send to me at BandB4951@aol.com

Talk to you later.

Bellinda
