My name is Linda Earls(my grandpa dropped the last e).My father was Silas Montgomery Earls. His brother was Paul Murphy Earls. My grandpa was Henry Allen Earls/Earles b.1896 near Paris,AR,Logan Co. They lived in the Harkey's Valley area. Henry's father was Stephen A.D. Earles b. March 21, 1861 in Jackson Co,AL probably around Bellafonte area, m. to 1.Mary Black in AL; 2. Sarah E. Robbins(my grtgrandma) in AR; 3.Dollie Ledgewood in AR. S.A.D. Earles and Sarah are buried in Raney Cemetery in Logan Co,AR.But S.A.D.'s b. date is listed wrong. It says 1881, but is actually 1861. Stephen's parents were John O Berton(Burton) Earles & Sarah Crabtree. They are in the Bellafonte area 1860 Census.Sarah's mother is living with them. James is 1 yr. it looks like. John's parents were James Allen Earles b. in Missouri, m. to Margaret Crabtree? The Earles are in the Jackson Co,AL area in the 1830,1840,1850,1860,1870,1880 censuses of AL, although other family members were living in other states.Have several censuses of this family. This family is in VA,Mississippi,TN,AL,AR,Missouri and elsewhere. Several distant cousins just sent me lots of information on the Earles and connecting families(Ledbetter,Crabtree,Robbins). I havn't read everything yet as I just glanced through it last night . I will read it and see if I can put all of it together. I have a pen with SAD Earles in gold embossed lettering along the side that my Grandpa gave me. I wanted to ask a question if someone might know about SAD Earles. I was always told his name was Stephen Allen Douglas Earles, but I keep hearing the A stands for Arnold. Was there two or more SAD Earles' ? Allen keeps showing up in the family names. I got alot of information and copies of documents from Jody 'Earles' Burtch. James Allen 'Cobb' Earles & Dora Singleton were her grandparents. If you e-mail me send it to <Firefly41950@aol.com> . Hope I can be of help to someone and hope someone contacts me. Wouild love to hear from some of you cousins out there. Linda
