I don't know if there is a connection, but---

My gggrandfather, William Pleasant (Ples) Earl(e)s, was born Feb. 12, 1849, in TN, and I think some of his family moved to KY. William married Virginia Ladd, and they had the following children: Estella, Flora, Dennis Jefferson (b. TN 1869), James Alexander (b. TN ca 1872), Sarah Elizabeth (b. Oct. 8, 1875 in Salem, IL), and Susie.

I don't know how long the family lived in IL. Virginia died in childbirth with Susie, and I believe William remarried, but I have no name for his second wife. The family probably lived in MO before settling in OK by the 1890's.

Does any of this match your records?

Thanks--

Donna Taylor
