Adele, my Grandmother (Mary Elizabeth EARNSHAW) had a brother was called William EARNSHAW. He would have been born in the mid to late 1880's, after the family moved from Derbyshire to Yorkshire. One of 6 children, his parents were Elijah and Eliza. William and Joseph are traditional names in my family history. I don't know if we have any family in common?
