Earnshaw name meaning?and Holme and Whitley Ped.
Dear Earnshaws
I have a small leaflet of Earnshaw Pedigree of Holme and Whitley, which I can look up stuff for anybody that it rings bells with.
Most likley you have already been there with the name meaning, but I noted some early spelling of Earnshaw: Erynshawe, Eryneshaghe, Ernneshay, Hernshaw, Ernshaw, And different meanings of the name: Old English: Earn Sceaga = 'dweller by the eagle wood'Yorkshire. And 1) a young heron, 2) Heronry or nest, 3)Heron Wood , the place where herons breed.Cumberland.
I am working from my fathers small and old research.
My grandmother
Isabella Augsta Mary Earnshaw b.28-07-1875. m.1910 in Rawalpindi India later returned to Swanage UK
Her Parents
Rev. T. Earnshaw
and his wife M.H. Earnshaw was a portrait painter for london society. There is also a connection to a Garside family.
Also Charles Earnshaw of Staveley.
Any leads or connections?
Regards Michael
