Hi Eastaughffe's.....wow..great to find you.I am a Great-Grand-Daughter of Alex (spoken of by Denis O'Leary...Denis's grandfather Frank was a brother of my grandmother Margaret Olive.... They were just two of the 17 children of Alexander and his wife Anne Healy. On Charles Douglass (the one is Australia, he was said to have been married 6/6/1840 ins Sydney, although I haven't been able to find confirmation of that yet), and the Dalby proclamation was in 1854.
Alex was born on 19/5/1858 at Dalby in QLD- there was another Alex born the year before, but sadly died, and so the next baby was called Alex.
Anyway I have heaps of info of the my lines of the family in Australia,,,but no more information that you on the elusive Eastaughffe in Scotland.....
I'm very pleased to meet you all, it somehow doesn't seem to lonely out there . I have a first cousin David McSweeney, will also altert him to this forum.Looking forward to any more responses....Jenny Bowden
