The Valley Chronicle (St. Charles, Ill.) 24 June 1881:
It appears from the Sycamore True Republican that John D. Easter, a former and well known resident of St. Charles, has commenced a suit in chancery against Gammon and Deering, claiming damages of $200,000 by reason of a conspiracy against him by the said parties, whereby they cheated him out of a very large sum, in connection wit the manufacture of the Marsh harvester.
