Dear Mr. Gambrell,
I am the great grandson of The Rev. Henry Easter, and have his framed photograph hanging here in the house in Potsdam, New York. This professional photo is now posted on Ancestry.com. I learned of your amazing find through correspondence with Mrs. Frye, and thank you so much for your kindness in saving this memento for so many years. I have rarely visited this web site so I just recently learned of your message about the wedding anniversary invitation.
Here is another fascinating story about Henry Easter. My late uncle Harry Easter, an avid genealogist from the days before computer data bases, learned that Presidential Candidate William Jennings Bryan was a close friend of Henry, and hand-carried the invitations for Henry's wedding to Mary Wing in Jacksonville, Illinois in 1881. My uncle was particularly interested in this bit of history because it was through this same marriage that my uncle learned he was distantly related to his own wife, Helen Stanton Baker, who is a relative of the Wing family.
