The Arlene Mansfield book is full of errors and misinformation. As an example, in regard to the Swickard subbranch of the Easterday family, Mansfield simply borrowed the information published by Ambrose M. Bower in his 1935 book on the Bower Swickard Family. Unfortunately, Mr. Bower's book has many many errors and Mansfield now has repeated these instead of doing her own independant research. As a result of this I would not rely upon her work. It is very unfortunate that such things happen, but we all know that they do. It is my responsibility to good genealogy to point this out to persons who will unwisely rely upon this book.
