David Ridenour was born on 30 Sep 1793 in Frederick Co., MD, a son of Jacob Reitenauer and Susanna Stemple. He married Elizabeth Easterday, a daughter of Martin and Barbara Bauer Easterday. Elizabeth was born on 23 Nov 1794 in Frederick Co., MD. The Easterdays came to Jefferson Co., OH in 1800 settling in Knox Twp. Elizabeth and David were married in Jefferson Co., OH on 22 Aug 1817. Their 11 children were born there as follows:

1. Martin B. Ridenour (19 Feb 1818-22 Dec 1898) married Nancy Jane Hawley on 10 Oct 1839. Died in Kansas City, KS.
2. Barbara Ridenour (6 Sep 1819-?) married James M. Hawley on 21 May 1840.
3. John Ridenour (1 Jan 1821-30 May 1905) married Hannah Osborn on 18 Aug 1844. Died in Chester, Meigs Co. OH.
4. Eve Ridenour (1 Jan 1822-?) married George Waggoner.
5. Margaret Elizabeth Ridenour (10 Nov 1824-6 Dec 1867) married Thomas Adams on 19 Oct 1845. Died in Chester, Meigs Co. OH.
6. Jacob Ridenour (24 Mar 1826-15 Feb 1907) married Elizabeth Easterday on 17 Jun 1848. Deid in Chester, Meigs Co. OH.
7. Susannah Ridenour (8 Jun 1828-22 Jan 1916) married Martin Adams on ?. Died in Racine, Meigs Co. OH.
8. David Ami Ridenour (16 Sep 1830-13 May 1925) married Lavina Parker on 27 Oct 1853.
9. Daniel Ridenour (16 Sep 1832-1879) never married. Died in Meigs Co. OH.
10. Elizabeth A. Ridenour (12 Dec 1835-24 Mar 1922) married William Watson on 6 Apr 1856.
11. Christian Ridenour (28 Dec 1838-23 Apr 1851) never married. Died in Meigs Co. OH.

David and Elizabeth moved their family to Meigs Co. Oh in 1839. On a trip back to Jefferson Co to visit relatives, David suddenly died on October 15, 1849. He was buried in the Osage Cemetery in Jefferson Co., OH. Elizabeth died on 14 Mar 1869 in Meigs Co. OH and was buried in the Ridenour Cemetery in Chester, Meigs Co. OH.
