MARTIN EASTERDAY (1795-1862)

Martin Easterday was born on 17 Sep 1795 in Frederick Co. MD, a son of Martin and Barbara Bauer Easterday. Martin settled with his family in Jefferson Co. OH in 1800. On 31 Jan 1818, he married Margaret (Peggy) Shaever in Harrison Co. OH. They had 5 children:

1. Barbara Easterday (1818-1901) married James W. Ball on 21 Aug 1855 in Meigs Co. OH.
2. Jacob Easterday (6 May 1820-3 Jan 1892) married Sarah Spiger on 1 Mar 1846 in Meigs Co. OH. Died in Meigs Co.
3. Jonas Easterday (1822-1883) married Druscilla Leter on 2 May 1843 in Meigs Co. OH.
4. John Easterday (4 Apr 1824-12 Jun 1907) married Sally Hubbell on 12 Nov 1846 in Meigs Co. OH. Died at Rutland, Meigs Co. OH.
5. Elizabeth Easterday (1826-18 Jan 1896) married Jacob Ridenour on 17 Jun 1848 in Meigs Co. OH. Died in Meigs Co.

Margaret Shaever Easterday died either at the birth of Elizabeth or shortly thereafter. Martin married for his second wife, Sarah Chambers Moreland (11 Mar 1793-9 Apr 1880) in 1827. Sarah was born in Loudon Co. VA. They too had 5 children:

6. Eve Easterday (14 Mar 1829-?) married George Wagner on 10 Aug 1852 in Meigs Co. OH.
7. Sarah Easterday (26 Oct 1831-31 Dec 1904) married Thomas Sayre on 9 Feb 1854 in Meigs Co. OH.
8. Martin Easterday (1833-?)
9. Adam Easterday (31 Jul 1836-15 Apr 1891) married Margaret L. Torrence on 14 Jun 1857 in Meigs Co. OH.
10. Maria Ellen Easterday (1837-?) married Peter R. Wolf on 14 Mar 1858 in Meigs Co. OH. Died in Bloomfield, MO.

Martin Easterday settled in Meigs Co. OH in 1840. He died at Plants, Meigs Co. OH on 24 Jan 1862.
