Lori,

I read your posting and I can't give you any information about the orphan, but I wanted you to know that I grew up with the same story. Maybe it's an Easterday urban legend or maybe it really happened. Either way the name has been around since the 1200's so if that was how the name started, it was an orphan from a long time ago. Interesting that we grew up with the same story though.
