Hi! I know it's been awhile since your post, but I was wondering if you could help me with some Easterday/Blessing information? I think the Catherine you were mentioning in the post is a sister of Julia or Juliana Easterday (b. May 30, 1765 in Frederick Co., MD, d. Oct. 3, 1824 in Frederick, MD and buried in the Bretheren Graveyard at Jefferson in Frederick Co., MD). I'm descended from Julia Easterday. Julia Easterday married George Blessing, Sr. and her parents were Christian Easterday and either Julia Blessing or Juliana Johanna Fracisca Spiess. Do you have information about Julia Easterday's parents and ancestry?
I'm a little confused about the whole Blessing/Easterday intermarriage thing! :)

Do you also know who Christian Easterday's parents were? I've heard through my family's oral tradition that Christian was an orphan put on the doorstep of a church on Easter Day so they named him Christian Easterday. Does this ring any bells?

My family also says that Christian and his sister Julia Easterday married a brother and sister, Jacob Blessing and Julia Blessing and came across in the ship Anderson with Capt. Hugh Campbell from Rotterdam last Portsmouth, England and arrived in Philadelphia, registered and took oath on Sept. 30, 1752. They came from Saxony, Germany, but my father also swears that our oral tradition says that the Blessings/Easterdays came from Holland. Any ideas as to how that could be? I'm guessing the family just came through Holland on their way out of Germany.

Thanks for your help and time!

Laurie :)
