Valentine married Lavina Young in 1841. They had seven children:
Lavina born in Ohio but I do not have the date
Cahterine born about 1843 in Ohio
Elizabeth born in 1844 in Ohio
Jacob born 3 March 1845
Joseph born 25 December 1845
Ephriam Sears born in 1854
HENRY BORN IN 1860 OR 1861.
Henry's birthdate is a little unclear. The family bible has him born in 1860; however, the Indiana census has him orn in 1861. The Indidana census for Miami County. Indiana has Henry and wife living with his father and farming with his father in Erie. Henry married Nacusus Huddelstrum (b. 1861) and they had three children: Mary Gilbert (1880), Luly Edith (b. 1882 and Lily May (b. 1885) Narcusus died shortly after giving birth and Henry married Hannah Reta Corn (b. 1868) They had the following children: Cantha Ann (b. August 1890) Nora Dena ( b. July 29, 1893) Hazzle Marie (b. June 19, 1896), Jennette Almma (b. Oct 16, 1899, Harvey V (b. March 5, 1902) and Burley (sp) (b. Aug. 29, 1908).

I am very sure of these information. My father, Harvey and his brother "Buck" went to Iowa to visit their half sisters some time in the 1970's or so. "Buck's" wife had the family bible and I think that heir oldest son, Henry, who lives in Franklin, Indiana has the bible at this time. Also the census records correspond to this information.

I am curious. Sometime in the late 40's or in 1950 I went to detassle corn near Kentland and some of the family came to visit me. I was very surprised since there had been little discussion pior to that date in family. I also know of some letters between Henry and Joseph and Jake. In the 1920's and early 30's my father lived in Muncie and he had direct contact with Jacob and Joseph.

Sincerely,

Kenneth
