I believe that death certificates statewide in Indiana exist back to 1900 and Valentine died in 1898 in White Co., IN. I do not have an exact date. I am uncertain regarding the documentation that the SAR requires, but others have joined the DAR/SAR based on a patriot status given his ancestor, Martin Easterday. Good luck, HOWARD LANHAM
