SC & AL Census Data for David Easterwood 1796-1866
First, I must applaud Robert Easterwood and Martha Curry for getting my Easterwood "incentive" going again. Thanks Robert for your many "sharing" messages (be sure and see his Nov 2, 2002 and earlier ones) and Martha for sharing the Lucinda Burgess Easterwood Probate papers. These got me tracking the David Easterwood family again via Ancestry.com census images. (I descend from David's sister Martha Easterwood AND Lucinda's father John BURGESS).
Remembering that Census taker's handwriting and microfilm quality is not always "clear", here is my best reading of census images for David Easterwood (and his wife Lucinda Burgess). The parenthetical notes are mine, trying to determine which child fits in which age category. I hope this helps someone out there and I welcome any input/correction.
It is interesting to note some name trends. Oldest daughter was named Catherine Elizabeth. Catherine (DRAPER) was Lucinda's mother and Elizabeth was David's mother. As for sons-1)John B.--Could that be for John BURGESS, Lucinda's father? 2) William- likely for David's father. As noted inmessage by Robert Easterwood the son L.P. could be a "David" who married Mary Ann Moorhead.
Your input is welcome and encouraged!
