I have some inormation aon the Easterwood-Parker family. Newton DeCalb Easterwood: first battalion of Miss. served in capt. cole's co of the battalion. Newton enlisted june 2, 1861. he was a prisoner of war and was paroled at columbus Miss. on May 16, 1865. The names of his brothers ar John, Henry, and Thomas. Newton had a Mercantile store wich he sold we moving to Texas where he re-opened the store. His children are Edwin Easterwood born Sept 6, 1865 and died nov 8, 1932 on the Easterwood ranch. I have Corrie Margaret as the only child of newton and mornin parker. corrie was a small girl who was corted by Luther G Roberts a country boy. i know that corrie took music lessons and had a good education. I have a bit more information on Newton including a picture dated August 22, 1841. if you would like i could fax or email this information to you.
