I do have a little information on Eli:
b. about 1832 in OH
o. Farm Hand, Cooper
m. 21 Jun 1854 to Mary Ann Trader in Boone Co., KY, daughter of John Trader (612.) and Elizabeth
b. 1835, Hartford, Dearborn (Ohio), IN
d. 1 Oct 1897, Tipton, Tipton, IN
d. 15 Jun 1864 in the Civil War at the Battle of Kenesaw Mountain, Cobb, GA
Eli and Mary married in 1854 and by 1860, they lived with their two children in Petersburg, KY. Neither Eli nor Mary could read or write, but Eli worked as a farm hand.
On 6 Feb 1864, Eli enlisted in Company I, Indiana 91st Infantry. The regiment had already been organized for over a year, but saw its first battle at Cumberland Gap, TN on 22 Feb. Eli participated in the Battle of Gilgal Church / Lost Mountain on 15 June at Kenesaw Mountain, GA. Two men were killed. Eli was one of them and was buried near the battle site. He was later interred at Marietta National Cemetary.
In 1870, Mary was still living in Rising Sun with Isabel and John. In 1880, she was living with Frank and “Annabelle” Hickner in Center, IN.
Children of Eli Easterwood7 and Mary Ann Trader:
i. Anna Isabelle “Annabelle”8 Easterwood, b. 29 Apr 1855, Rising Sun, Ohio, IN
ii. John Easterwood, b. 28 Jun 1856, Ohio Co., IN; m. Mary Magdalena Hickner
