Hi Barbara,
The marriage of William Fitz Alan to Helen Peverel is an error which can be traced to the early 1800s.Unfortunately, this error has been entered into the LDS Ancestral File so it occurs on hundreds of personal web sites. You will not find this marriage in any recent (or even old) reference.
Second, the William Fitz Alan who married Christiana (niece of the Earl of Gloucester, per Ordericus, exact relationship unknown) is the same William Fitz Alan who married Isabel de Say in 1155.
Christiana Fitz Alan who married Hugh Pantulf in 1170 was a daughter of this first William Fitz Alan, most likely by his first wife.
Of course, as discussed in great detail, our Robert de Eyton is not a son of William I Fitz Alan.Though we descend from him through the Catherine Talbot/ Nicholas de Eyton marriage.
So:
Alan Fitz Flaadm.Aveline de Hesdig
William Fitz Alan Im. 1stChristiana
m. 2nd 1155Isabel de Say
William Fitz Alan IIm.a daughter of Hugh de lacy
William Fitz Alan III m. Mary de Erdington, he died (April 1215) without issue, his brother
John Fitz Alanm.Isabel de Albini
Their son became the 5th Earl of Arudel
