Jemima EATON (b1773) d/o David EATON (b1728)?

Jemima Eaton was the wife of Enoch Hawkins. They were married in 1796 and moved from New England, perhaps Connecticut to Chenango County, NY during the early part of the 19th century. Their first son was David. I wonder if thie could have been Jemima's father's name; the second child was Malcolm Niven.

There are several David Eatons from New England of the right age. The one that is the leading candidate is David Eaton s/o Samuel Eaton (b1692) and Hannah or Huldah Worthen. This David had a sister, Jemima, b 1717. This David married Lydia Fowler in Salisbury, Essex County, MA in 1756. However, I have seen several listings for David Eaton. From what I can tell they are often confused.

I would like to hear from anyone who can clarify the information for this David Eaton, particularly to connect or rule David as the father of Jemima.
